Solar Design Manager (H/F)

On behalf of one of our international clients operating in the renewable energy sector, we are looking for a Solar Design Manager (M/F) for a 1-year assignment in Australia.

As Solar Design manager, your main tasks will be to :

•Overall Design coordination

Organizing the different design activities, sequencing them and making sure each of them has the correct input at the correct time. Cross checking information and consolidating the different scope of engineering (Civil/Structural/Electrical/SCADA)
Ensuring correct sequencing of design activities in a timely manner (as per contract, program and other design disciplines requirements)
Reviewing contracts for designer, subcontractors and main equipment supplies
Following cost and expenses of design in coordination with Cost Control and Project Management
Coordinating with Project Program and Procurement team
Report to Project Management on progress and area of concerns (risks mitigation)
Report to client on design progress (S-curve)
Coordinate request for Information with clients, subcontractors, designers, suppliers etc…
Maintain Document Master list and track correspondences.
Facilitate discussions and interactions between Internal design team, designers, suppliers and construction team
Facilitate safety in design workshops (SiD, Hazop, HazCon, Hazid) with all parties
Mentor the team of in-house engineer and help them acquiring new skillets and gain in autonomy.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert in his own area of expertise (Civil/Structural/Electrical/PV/SCADA…)

•Sourcing support
Develop technical specifications in coordination with engineering team.
Support Tender Analysis in coordination with sourcing department
Ensuring Return Of Experience from previous projects and supplies

•Coordination of interfaces between HV substation design, SCADA design, PV design and third parties (with support of PV engineer and Scada engineers):
Protection and Control interfaces
Earthing interfaces
Communication protocols (from Trackers, Inverters, SCADA etc…)
Communication networks (Fiber Optic loops, network speed, compatibility etc…)
Checking interfaces with construction scope:
•Access to area
•Proximity with Trenches
•Cable crossings
•Water ways, drains, ponds etc…

•Design Certification
In charge of obtaining construction certificates with Building Certifier
In charge of ensuring all design is signed-off by appropriate engineer.


•Grid Connection coordination
Support the HV engineer and Grid Connection engineer to obtain data from clients and third parties (RFI)
Ensure data is circulated within the team
Interface with Client and Network Authorities (with the support of HV engineer and Grid Connection engineer)
Ensure connection to the grid registration happens on time

Profil recherché

First experience in France in the design of solar farms, with a strong ability to coach and manage a young team (minimum 20 people). Good coordinator, able to manage both local interactions and the remote management of the design office in France. Proven decision-making and arbitration skills.

Bachelor's degree (Bac+2/+3) with 5 years of confirmed experience in project design management. OR Master's degree (Bac+5) in civil, electrical, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
