Job Summary:
The Design Manager is responsible for managing the design and technical aspects of Track and overhead catenary systems (OCS) in railway infrastructure projects. This role involves leading a team of engineers, ensuring compliance with technical standards, coordinating with project stakeholders, and overseeing the design process from conceptualization to implementation.

Key Responsibilities:
Design & Engineering Oversight:
- Develop and oversee the design of Track and overhead catenary systems (OCS)) for railway projects.
- Ensure designs meet international standards, local regulations, and project specifications.
- Optimize catenary system layouts for efficiency, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Review and validate technical drawings, schematics, and calculations.

Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers to integrate TRK & OCS designs.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors and regulatory bodies to ensure project alignment.
- Provide technical expertise during project meetings and decision-making processes.

Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead and follow up progress made by design subcontractors
- Allocate tasks, review performance, and ensure project timelines are met.
- Conduct technical training sessions to enhance team expertise in OCS design.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all designs comply with railway industry standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement design modifications when necessary.
- Coordinate with quality control teams to validate the feasibility of proposed designs.

Technical Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of design changes and approvals.
- Provide regular progress updates to senior management and project stakeholders.

Profil recherché

Qualifications & Skills:
- **Education:** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- **Experience:** Minimum of 8-12 years in railway electrification, with at least 5 years in catenary system design and management.

Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Track and OCS design, components, and installation methods.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, and Office software
- Familiarity with railway installation process and electrification standards (UIC, EN, IEC, and local regulations).

Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and design quality.

Certifications:
- Professional Engineering License or equivalent certification (preferred).

Work Conditions:
- Office-based role with occasional site visits.
- May require extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Exposure to construction environments during project execution.
